2019 Napa Sangiovese

Napa Valley, Atlas Peak

Garnet in a glass, exhibiting classic varietal characteristics with dark stone fruit, dried tobacco leaves and a bright herbal bouquet. Medium-bodied, with savory aromatics and pleasant acid; a very balanced food-friendly wine. Hints of all-spice on the mid-palate along with nicely integrated tannins, make for a long finish. 

Vineyard: Napa Valley; hearty mountain fruit, above the fog on steep south-facing slopes of Atlas Peak; twenty year-old vines, Antinori clone.  

Harvest & Ageing: Handpicked & sorted, fermented in stainless steel, 21 days on the skins, gentle bladder press, slow native malolactic through spring. 22 months in neutral French oak.

2019 Napa Vermentino

Napa Valley, Carneros 

Not your typical Napa Valley white wine... somewhere between those unctuous Chardonnays and acid-driven Sauvignon Blancs, this classic Italian varietal shines through from a place it was meant to: a stone's throw from the Bay on cool-climate rolling hills of Carneros. Aromatics of citrus blossom, passionfruit, and a hint of honeysuckle. Paired with grilled shrimp or pan-roasted chicken, its bright-but-balanced acidity carries the length of the palate, complementing with flavors of mandarin orange and fuji apple. 

Vineyard & Harvest: Carneros; on south-facing slopes near the Sonoma border, picked at early ripeness to preserve natural acidity. 

Ageing: 17 months in neutral French oak.

The bouquet offers a variety of aromatics including a sweetness of strawberry, hints of honeycomb and citrusShows flavors of nectarine, mandarin and some mineral nuances.  

Vineyard & Harvest: Blend of Syrah & Mourvèdre from sunny spots around the SF Bay, ripened to 23 brix for greater phenolic complexity.

Fermentation & Ageing: Direct press, low-and-slow fermentation to preserve floral aromas and bright acidity; 6 months in neutral French oak.
